Safety Tips
• A parent or responsible adult should always accompany young children on their neighborhood rounds.
• Obtain flashlights with fresh batteries for all children and their escorts.
• If your older children are going alone, plan and review the route that is acceptable to you. Agree on a specific time when they should return home.
• Only go to homes with a porch light on and never enter a home or car for a treat.
• Because pedestrian injuries are the most common injuries to children on Halloween, remind Trick-or-Treaters:
o Stay in a group and communicate where they will be going.
o Remember reflective tape for costumes and trick-or-treat bags.
o Carry a cellphone for quick communication.
o Remain on well-lit streets and always use the sidewalk.
o If no sidewalk is available, walk at the far edge of the roadway facing traffic.
o Never cut across yards or use alleys.
o Only cross the street as a group in established crosswalks (as recognized by local custom). Never cross between parked cars or out driveways.
o Don't assume the right of way. Motorists may have trouble seeing Trick-or-Treaters. Just because one car stops, doesn't mean others will!
o Law enforcement authorities should be notified immediately of any suspicious or unlawful activity.

Thursday, October 23rd is Picture Retake Day at LBA. All students who were absent on the original Picture Day of September 16th will have their picture taken. If you want retakes done, please send your original packet back with your student. Extra order forms are available in the office. Its safe to say that LBA Elementary would not be LBA Elementary without Lois Moss, who has been serving students and families here for 49 years. Starting in the lunchroom, where she still continues daily duties, she quickly demonstrated a rapport with students that everyone knew could benefit classrooms as well. Generations come and go, but Lois is a shining, timeless example of dedication, dependability, and compassion.

Our first School Skate Party at Skate City is one week from today - October 20th, 6-8 pm. We hope to see you there!

Parent Teacher Conferences are schedule for Tuesday, October 14th, 12-7 pm and Thursday, October 16th, 3:30 - 7 pm. Please call the office if you need to know your scheduled time to meet with your student's teacher.

Reminder...There is no school on Monday, October 13th for Native American Day and Tuesday, October 14th for Teacher Inservice and Parent Teacher Conferences.

Emma Hensley and Dana Harpe, two students on the WHS Homecoming Court came and read , "Creepy Carrots," this morning to our early childhood students.

K03 loves going to Library! After listening to Mrs. Savage read stories, they get to participate in various station activities. Sometimes we even get 4th grade buddies to come in and play too. The smiles say it all.

Our custodial staff do so much more than keep classrooms, hallways, and facilities clean. They help create safe, welcoming spaces where students and staff can learn, grow, and thrive. Their dedication often goes unseen, but it makes a difference every single day. Thank you Mr. Rick, Mr. Timas and Mr. Danny for all you do! We appreciate you!
